The 7th International Inter-Area hosted by Kent Korfball Association took place at Larkfield Recreational Grounds, Larkfield, Kent, in blistering conditions reaching 34°C by mid-afternoon. The event was opened by the Lord Mayoress of Tunbrdige & Malling, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Tonbridge & Malling Council, Kent Sports Development Unit and all our Sponsors and Supporters for making the Tournament such a success. Participants from the Netherlands, Scotland, Belgium, Wales and English Areas played in age groups from Under 11 to Senior, this unique event covering all age groups at a single location. A very strong entry of over 250 players from the Netherlands including South West District, Middleburg (Swift), Almere (EKVA), Synergo (Utrecht), along with the National Squads of Scotland and Wales, ensured the high standards were on show at every level, along with the English Area Associations, of London, Kent and Norfolk. With the searing temperatures, reaching 34°C by mid afternoon, special mention must go to the younger age groups, for playing at such high standards. Winners of the Competiton Under 11s – Kent Under 13s – South West District Under 16s – Middleburg (Swift) Under 19s – Kent Seniors – Kent Next years competition will be on Saturday 23rd of July and we hope that all Area Associations place this in their diaries as one of the key events of the year. We would like to thank all the participants and the excellent organisation by KKA for a first-class competition attracting over 500 participants, with approximately 2000 people attending, making this one of the largest EKA events.
