The Bearsted Korfball Club & Academy have forged links with the Roseacre, Madginford, Thurnham and St John’s Primary Schools through the Club/School Link.

The club-school link is organised by the club, based on a scheme promoted by the British Korfball Association. Each year Head Coach Kevin Long takes a weeks leave and, with assistance from other Club members, visit’s the schools with the aim to give the sport exposure to youngsters with the hope that a number of them will take it up.

To date we have been very successful with club numbers rising from the initial 10 to 80+ in 2006.

There are no standards to be met – if someone wants to play, we will find a team for them to play in.

As the majority of the club attend the Roseacre School they are able to enter a team in the Kent School’s Tournament. In the three years 2004 to 2006 the School has won the tournament and been runners up twice.

Each year we attend the Bearsted Fete making a contribution towards the Bearsted Fayre Committee’s fundraising.
